Spring opens the property, fall closes it, and winter keeps it passable. The same crew that mows it in July plows it in January.
Four seasons, one crew, one number.
The awkward thing about outdoor work is that the jobs that matter most happen at the worst possible times. Everyone wants their leaves gone the same three weeks in November. Everyone wants a plow at four in the morning after the same storm.
That is why we run seasonal work on contract and set the routes ahead of time. If you are on the snow list before winter, you are on the route. If you are calling during the storm, so is everybody else.
- Spring cleanupDebris, dead growth cut back, beds edged and mulched, first mow.

Leaves are not a one-visit job
Trees in this part of Iowa do not drop on the same schedule. Maples go early, oaks hang on into December. A single cleanup booked for the first weekend in November means you rake the rest yourself.
We run several passes through the fall on maintenance properties, which keeps leaves off the turf. A thick wet mat sitting on grass through a freeze is how you get dead patches in April.
Snow gets contracted, not called in
Snow contracts set out a trigger depth, a route order and what gets cleared, so nobody is negotiating at 5am. Commercial lots and anything with a duty of care come first, then residential drives.
We can do per-push or seasonal. Per-push suits a light winter, seasonal suits anyone who needs the budget fixed. We will tell you which we think fits your property.
The last mow matters more than people think.
Cool-season grass in Iowa keeps growing until daytime highs stay below about 50 degrees, which is usually late October or early November. Stopping too early leaves the lawn long going into winter, which invites snow mould. We mow until it genuinely stops, then close the property out.
Questions we get
When should I book a fall cleanup?
Call in September or early October. The work happens in November, but the schedule fills before then and the last two weeks of leaf season are always oversubscribed.
When do snow contracts get set?
Ideally by October. We set routes before the first storm, and once the routes are full they are full. Existing maintenance customers get first call on slots.
What snow depth do you come out at?
Trigger depth is set in the contract, typically around two inches for residential drives and lower for commercial lots and walks where there is a liability question. Ice events get treated separately.
Do you do commercial lots as well as houses?
Yes. Commercial properties and anywhere with public foot traffic get cleared first, because that is where the risk sits.
Can you just do a one-off cleanup?
Yes, and plenty of people do. It is scheduled around contracted work, so booking early makes a real difference in November.
Do you clean gutters as part of a fall cleanup?
It is a separate service and we do it after the leaves are actually down. Cleaning gutters in early November while the oaks are still dropping means doing it twice.
Get on the list before the weather does.
Snow routes fill before the first storm and fall cleanups fill in October. Call early and you are on the route rather than the callback list.
